Matrix Algebra

Just the same as with scalars and vectors, you can use letters of the alphabet, or other similar symbols, to stand for vectors.
So, instead of writing out big 3x3 matrix, or any other matrix, each time you use it in an equation; you could just write:

Let A = 3x3 matrix

and then subsequently just use the symbol A to represent that particular matrix in equations, thereby saving your sanity.

Note that unlike scalars and vectors, it's customary to represent vectors with capital letters. (A, B, C, D, etc.)
