The Kronecker Delta symbol

The Kronecker delta symbol looks like δij, where i and j are just two integer numbers. Basically, the Kronecker delta is equal to either 1 or 0, depending on whether the numbers i and j are the same or different.

δij={1  if i = j
0  if i ≠ j

So, for example, δ22, δ-1, -1 and δ00 are all equal to 1, but  δ12 is equal to zero. It's that simple.
